SATOU SABALLY
COURT AND EVENT DESIGN

Satou Sabally is a basketball player from Schöneberg, Berlin. She plays in the WNBA in America and serves as a role model for female basketball players in Berlin. The Jordan brand aimed to create a legacy court in her name, located in her hometown of Berlin. 

For the design, we collaborated with local turkish artist and Satou’s friend, Bahar Bambi. We briefed Bahar to design a vibrant court that would stand out against the backdrop of Tempelhof Feld. We asked her to include illustrative details that would tell Satou’s story and celebrate her Gambian heritage. For the opening, we invited Satou’s friends, family, and local basketball clubs. We developed a custom visual identity inspired by Satou’s Gambian heritage and created a unique typeface based on Jordan Brand’s font family.
